Vintage A. Zildjian Trans Stamp 13" Hats (491 & 499g)
These are as good as it gets for a jazz drummer! Paper thin, dark, and warm, with just enough bite. Grab these while you can, because they don't come up for sale very often.
The condition is good, especially considering that these cymbals date back to the late '40s to early '50s. The center holes are small (roughly 3/8" diameter) and fairly round. The edges have some rough and wavy spots and minor fleabites, but nothing that should affect longevity. Obviously you should expect stick marks, fingerprints, dirt, grime, oxidation, light scratches and stains, i.e. the works in terms of cosmetic issues.
The 491g cymbal measures a full 13" and exhibits more dirt on its surface, consistent with use as a hi hat top. The 499g cymbal is roughly 12-7/8" in diameter. We believe that we spy some ink remaining beneath the stamp of this one, possibly reading "MEDIUM;" see the photo and judge for yourself.
